What Didn’t Kill Her

Thursday, September 26th, 2013

A friend of mine sent me this link today:

What Doesn't Kill Her from Reddit

I’m not sure if this is inspirational or cool or just plain creepy! Whatever the case, I’m glad that she and her loved ones are all right. Losing everything you own in an instant is terrible enough.

I’m going to pick out a few comments from the post, but you can see the rest by clicking on the title link above.

The friend shares her experience (and an incredible, positive attitude):

A firefighter explains to jaded Internet skeptics how and why a Kindle could be recovered from a fire:

A fellow Kindle owner takes precautions:

A few posters accused this of being a fake story as part of some viral advertising campaign. But one redditor thinks something even darker is afoot:

And, since this is reddit after all, here’s the top-rated joke:

The Goliath Bone Kindle Sale

Tuesday, April 17th, 2012

I was just browsing through Amazon and noticed the kindle version of The Goliath Bone is currently on sale for $1.88. I don’t know how long this will last, so if you haven’t read first Spillane/Collins Mike Hammer collaboration (also, chronologically the last in the series), now’s your chance!

By Hook or By Crook, Free E-Book

I’m still in Japan through the rest of the week, but I saw this on Amazon, snatched it, and thought I should share.

By Hook or By Crook (Best Crime & Mystery Stories of the Year)

This (free, for now at least) collection includes 28 shorts including “The Big Switch,” a Mike Hammer story by Max Allan Collins and Mickey Spillane.

True Crime Kindle Sale (April)

Sunday, April 1st, 2012
True Crime

I’m still over in Japan, so this will be a quick announcement.

Through the end of April, the second Nathan Heller novel, True Crime, is on sale for $1.99 on the Kindle store.

The entire backlist of Nathan Heller books is available on the Kindle store, and many of them also steals for under five dollars each. (True Detective, for example, is only $3.60 and a terrific place to start.) Paperback, audio CD, and MP3 editions are also for sale. I’m in the middle of listening to the audiobook of True Crime, and I can highly recommend Dan John Miller’s version of Heller.

Also, please remember to leave a user review, especially if you like it!
